The Place of Surrender

You are not alone. It’s not just happening to you. You’re not the only one enduring what you’re enduring. You’re not the only one who feels stuck. You’re not the only one who isn’t sure whether the glass is half full or half empty. You’re not the only one who doesn’t feel like it…any of it. You’re not the only one who’s contemplated throwing in the towel. You’re not the only one who woke up early in the morning tired and then crawled in bed in the evening even more tired. You’re not the only one who has a dream, but no idea of how to bring it to pass. You’re not the only one!
How often do we face a secret storm and cry out, ‘Why Me'? If we’re honest-I mean really honest-it’s more often than we’d like to mention. Life is not always on the up and up no matter how wide we’re smiling on the outside. Sometimes, in the midst of trying to get it right we just can’t seem to get it right. Talk about sleepless nights and tear stained pillow cases. You’ve had a few of those too, huh?
It’s ok! In many ways, life has left us bruised and a bit broken and yet we’ve managed to forge ahead with such grace. We even pour into others from our well of wisdom although we may believe it has many deficiencies. We’re stronger than we think. Truly, God’s grace has been sufficient throughout our lives. Through every test, through every trial, through all the heartache, the disappointments and the losses – His grace has been sufficient. (Romans 8:38-39; 2 Corinthians 12:9)
So, with head bowed, heart open, hands raised – forge ahead. Make a determination to stay the course no matter what comes your way. Continue looking to the hills from whence cometh your help. YOUR HELP IS FROM AND IN THE LORD! Stay the course, my friend. You’ve got this!!!
